8. Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
Swirling rainbow skies
mirrored images of the mystic:
Psychedelic vision.
Storms of possibility
cracked into reality.
Summer of Love:
listening to colours of dreams.
spinning and tumbling,
in washing machines of rainbows.
Travelling in yellow busses,
surfing on clouds.
Rolled up a magical mystery tour,
in circles of flowers
burning under feet.
A concrete statue
pretended to be serious
alone on the hill.
Tears burn cheeks
as fire echoed marmalade
drips down behind.
We breathed rainbows,
shifted colours,
turning shades inside the self,
planned a future
with plasticine wrist watch hands.
We were not afraid to laugh:
A mouth opens
letting out butterflies.
Fluttering rainbows tickle by
twisting up into the roof of the ocean.
