15. Acting Naturally
Fingers smoulder
in burning, silver circles:
Flashing rings glaze
under theatrical leaves,
blowing restlessly over
shadows of movie films.
Clicking photographs,
melted negatives
hum the sweet, fresh laughter
in songs of youth:
"You're Sixteen".
Dissolving under guitars
and crashing drums,
he belts a thousand hammers,
blazing and bouncing
basketball suns
thump on fire, crusted planets.
He stops to smell blood, curled fabric:
the thrilled red stars
twisting and laughing
on green wired fuses
of ladders to springtime.
