18. Believing in Yesterday
"Umbrae Umbrarum Vitu Soluimus"
Shadows we are and like shadows we depart.
Golden bowling ball
smokes in midnight mists,
knocking over ten pin shadows:
statues of darkness.
Filling cracks in walls,
lonely lost dreams,
ghostly bridges
over invisible pain rivers.
Flames leap and puncture
the spaces of Sometimes Heaven, Sometime Loss.
Rainbow twist on.
Electric flashes
stun the lost heart
tumbling and travelling forever,
looking for shortcuts of desires,
for detours of dreams.
Swimming back home
in turning oceans of light,
flickering globes of memory
stutter back
to the cold footpaths,
and fogs of Liverpool.
